The hood area is 30x24x21 inches (76x61x53 cm) with filter in area back of the TE-10 smoking machine.

The errant smoke is captured from the smoking machine to keep exposure area free of smoke. Below the TE-10 unit is the mixing and dilution (m&d) chamber which collects the side-stream and mainstream smoke from the TE-10 and mixes it with air using a co-axial fan in a chamber.

Below the m&d chamber, a high-pressure high-volume fan is located that pulls air and smoke through the exposure chambers. A charcoal filter is located after the fan and is connected to a 4-inch duct for venting the system.
